Great Machine
I bought this chipper to replace my small electric chipper. It’s very good and I like the way I can tow it to where I need it. Only used it for a few hours and so far very impressed. It’s quite frugal on fuel too. I haven’t given it five stars as there are a few things I think need improving. The throttle control lever needs to be longer so it can be easier to see and move from the opposite side. The chippings exit chute needs a flexible neck to prevent chippings coming out of the gap in the adjustable nozzle. It struggles with large pieces of hardwood. It’s very loud! Ear defenders are a must.

JCB 100MM /4” HEAVY-DUTY PETROL WOOD CHIPPER 7.5HP, 224CC 4-STROKE | JCB-CH75100P
Great machine, bought it to access woodland that was too marshy to get to with my tractor and chipper. Pulled by quad no issues. Chips branches very well, just don't feed too fast or it struggles. One bad point is that the instruction manual which came with my machine was shockingly poor, (it referred to a water pump) but even then the detail on how to use the machine was lacking.

JCB 7.5HP Chipper
I was attracted both by the reputation of JCB and the price, which was considerably cheaper than Hansa and other premium brands. The assembly was reasonably straightforward, though the tools you provided were of no use whatsoever. There are some problems with the assembly manual which need fixing, including no mention of the electrical connection. However, the online video by Adrian was excellent and much better than the manual so all was well in the end. In performance, the chipper is pretty good. Starting was a bit tricky until we realised that we had to fill the oil for a second time, once the reserve had found its way around the engine. Once that was done, it was more reliable and we were able to get through some pretty hefty boughs with no problem. Don't underestimate the weight of this machine, however. It's tricky to pull manually over grass and gravel. I guess the larger chipper would be impossible to manoeuvre so I'm glad we got this model. We've only used it once so far but it was very good and the chippings are perfect for the chicken run, once they dry out a bit. I would happily recommend this model to anyone looking to get a smallholding chipper.
